What this site is

  • Plain-English guides for opening and running a small online store
  • Facts linked to official sources, with the date we checked them
  • Tool picks that say who they are NOT for

What it isn't

  • Rewritten vendor marketing pages
  • Rankings or verdicts a vendor can pay for
  • Invented credentials, teams or testimonials

Who runs this site

Kitmere is a small, independent publication run by a software developer. It is not owned by, or paid to promote, any store platform, payment provider or software company.

We publish under the Kitmere name rather than a personal byline. We do not invent credentials, awards, experts or editorial teams, and we do not publish testimonials or results we cannot show.

Why we started

Most advice about opening an online store is either a vendor's sales page or a forum thread with no sources. The official answers exist, spread across government sites, platform help centers and pricing pages, but they are hard to find and harder to read. Kitmere puts them in order, in plain English, with a link to every source.

Our editorial standards

  • Sources first: Every fact links to an official page, with the date we checked it. When we cannot verify something, we say so instead of guessing.
  • Independent opinions: No vendor can buy a higher ranking, a positive review, or a modified verdict.
  • Price transparency: We show when fees and prices were checked and link to the vendor's own pricing page.
  • Hands-on where it matters: When a page reviews a tool, we use it on a real task first and mark the page as hands-on tested.

How We Make Money
